How would you describe yourself to a friend?

Highly motivated, passionate about Mathematics, fully independent and totally approachable

Where am I today

I am currently a teacher of IB AA HL Mathematics, at an International school in Jakarta and an Examiner for Edexcel, Cambridge and IBDP exam boards. I am also studing towards my second MSc, this time in Data Analysis & Machine Learning.

I have always had a passion for Mathematics ever since I can remember and I am absolutely committed to pass it on to my students. I was born and raised in Athens and I was inspired by the legacy of important Greek Mathematicians/Philosophers such as Euclid, Pythagoras and Plato. I completed a BSc in Applied Mathematics at University of Crete, Greece, followed by a MSc in Applied Mathematics (Mathematical Physics) at Imperial College London, UK. Shortly after, I obtained Qualified Teacher Status and my teaching journey began.

Whilst teaching in the UK, I developed invaluable teaching skills and appreciated the individuality of my students. As a Leader of Mathematics, A-Level Coordinator, Examiner for IB/Pearson/Cambridge and NQT advisor, I successfully drive the Department’s standards forward, securing my A-Level students’ grades and my colleagues’ smiles.

‘Mens sana in corpore sano’ is my driving quote which keeps me focused and happy. This is why I have been involved in the Duke of Edinburgh Award and I keep supporting students’ outdoor activities. In between coding for fun, studying Maths and popular Science, I am a keen windsurfer, trail runner, a group fitness instructor and I love SE Asian food.
